Chinese Vocabulary
Private beta · personal project in active development

A personal Chinese vocabulary system

I built this to stop losing words across notes apps and class handouts. It keeps my vocabulary, HSK tags, flashcard sets, and study tools in one place, synced so I can study on my laptop or phone.

The live site is hosted mainly for my own use while I keep shipping features. Public signup is closed. You can look around here or ask for access if you want to try it.

Built for the messy part of language learning

Class notes produce a stream of words that rarely stay organized. This app is the notebook and the practice deck in the same system.

Capture words from class

Paste a list from notes, or add terms one at a time as you meet them. Each word gets pinyin, meaning, and HSK level when it matches the official lists.

Organize for review

Star words for a study queue, or build named flashcard sets by month, lesson, or topic. Removing a word from a set keeps it in your library.

Practice and ask follow-ups

Run flashcards when you have a few minutes. Use the assistant for usage examples and light drills while staying close to words you already know.

Everything for one word, in one place

A vocabulary list that holds what you need to remember, plus the tools to turn it into practice.

One vocabulary list

Add words by pasting Chinese or typing English. Each entry stores pinyin, translation, grammar, and example sentences in one row.

HSK book tags

Words that show up in the official HSK books get tagged with their level, so you always know where a term fits in the curriculum.

Flashcard sets

Group words into sets for focused review. Pulling a word out of a set keeps it safe in your main library.

Study mode

Star anything you want to drill, then run through it as flashcards with the answer hidden until you flip.

AI helper

Ask for example sentences, quizzes, word comparisons, or a short story built from words you already saved.

Synced everywhere

Your account keeps everything together, so the same list is waiting on your laptop and your phone.

Product walkthrough

Screenshot-style previews of the main surfaces I use day to day.

Vocabulary library

Searchable table with HSK tags

Browse every word in one place. Sort by hanzi, pinyin, meaning, grammar, HSK book, or when you added it.

Flashcard sets

Groups for focused study

Break the big library into smaller sets so you can review May notes, HSK 2, or restaurant words without rebuilding cards.

Study assistant

Questions about the words you know

Ask how a word is used in a sentence. The assistant prefers vocabulary already in your list and explains unfamiliar terms when they appear.

AI is still evolving. Rate limits and model availability can make replies spotty on free tiers.

Study Assistant
How would 胆小 be used in a natural sentence?
他小时候很胆小,不敢一个人睡觉。 Prefer familiar words, then explain any that are new.
